Can I use my Oyster/Contactless card on your trains within the London area?

You can use Oyster season tickets or Oyster/Contactless “Pay As You Go” (PAYG) on our trains between London Euston and Watford Junction, including intermediate stations. Find out more

At what times can I use Peak and Off-Peak Day Travelcards?

Day Travelcards (peak) can be used all day Monday to Friday, on the day of validity and for any journey that starts before 04.30 the following day. On public holidays it is cheaper to buy an Off–Peak Day Travelcard.

Day Travelcards (off-peak) have the same restrictions as the equivalent Off-Peak Day Return ticket to London, but also includes unlimited travel on London buses, tubes and most trains in the Transport for London area. They are not valid for travel on services arriving into London Euston before 10.00 or departing from London Euston after 16.49 until 19.01 for journeys to Watford Junction and any station as far as (and including) Long Buckby.

Can I save money with a season ticket?

Yes, season tickets can offer great discounts for regular travellers, and are available for all short and medium distance journeys on the London Midland network. Find out more

What is a penalty fare?

Like most train companies we operate a penalty fares scheme on our services. Penalty fares apply at the majority of London Midland stations and trains, which means that anyone who does not have a valid ticket for their journey, and had the opportunity to purchase one, will be liable to pay a penalty fare. At what age do children have to pay to travel?

Children under the age of 5 travel free of charge when accompanied by a fare-paying adult, so you will not have to purchase a ticket for their journey. 

There are discounted fares available for children aged 5 to 15, these fares will be displayed during the booking process. One of the most economical ways to purchase a child’s fare can be to purchase a Family & Friends Railcard. This gives a 33% discount on adult fares and a 60% discount on child fares when all are travelling together. Find out more.
