1 Filip Markiewicz: Celebration Factory

Why does peaceful normality co-exist with a sense of fear and crisis? The multidisciplinary artist, a Luxembourger of Polish origin, employs the retro-technology of pencil and paper to explore some paradoxes of today's Europe. Events accompanying the exhibition include a film, open-mic nights, drawing workshops and a protest song-writing workshop.

2 78 Derngate: The Charles Rennie Mackintosh House

The Grade II listed Georgian house, which was designed and remodelled by Charles Rennie Mackintosh for businessman Wenman Joseph Bassett-Lowe in 1917, now hosts a boutique restaurant and light-filled art galleries which are open to public viewing. Past and present in sweet harmony.

3 Althorp

The House, surrounded by stunning parkland, has magnificent interiors and one of Europe's finest private collections of furniture, paintings and photographs, and ceramics. 4 Sywell Country Park

Uncover the splendors of this scenic country park and stroll around the surrounding pastureland which boasts picnic meadows, orienteering trails and a three mile reservoir trail. Visitors are also invited to pond dip in the amphibian pond to discover what lives beneath the water's surface or head to the children's play area for a day of fun.

5 Abington Park Museum

Housed in a Grade 1 listed building in the park, this museum is home to a beautiful Tudor oak panelled room, plus exhibitions on the history of the Northamptonshire Regiment & Yeomanry, a 19th-century fashion gallery and items from the Museum of Leathercraft collection.

6 Castle Ashby Gardens

Thirty-five acres of extensive gardens encircling the ancestral home of the 7th Marquess of Northampton, including the romantic Italian Gardens, an orangery designed by architect Matthew Digby Wyatt, and an impressive arboretum. The menagerie, with its cute meerkats and marmosets is open from April along with the tea room in the walled garden.

9 Perennials For High Summer

The Garden School has been established at Coton Manor since 1994.
