1 Centenary Exhibition: Charles Rennie Mackintosh And The Great War

In March 2017 it will be 100 years since Mr and Mrs Bassett-Lowke moved into their "charming and up-to-date miniature residence" at No 78 Derngate, Northampton. Designed and remodelled by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, the house was a showcase for the architect's avant-garde designs. This exhibition kicks of a series of events to mark the occasion.

2 James Smith: Memorability As An Image

A series of three careful photographic studies - Heavy Simplicity (Patterned), Brutal Relics and Civic Stage - which engage with the rise and fall of the post-War Brutalist architectural movement (as typified by Northampton's recently demolished Greyfriar's Bus Station), and the public's perception of it.

3 Remembering Fred

Aljaz Skorjanec and Janette Manrara from Strictly Come Dancing pay tribute to Fred Astaire during an evening of entertainment and song dedicated to the legacy of one of Hollywood's true screen legends. Performances are accompanied by classics from the American Songbook written by George & Ira Gershwin, Irving Berlin and Cole Porter.

4 An Evening With Chris Kamara & Charlie Nicholas

Chris Kamara made his professional debut for Portsmouth in 1975. His playing and managerial career lasted three decades and since his retirement he has co-hosted Goals On Sunday. Charlie Nicolas played 448 professional matches scoring 154 goals for Celtic, Arsenal and Scotland. Two Sky Sports football pundits share their deep knowledge of the game.

5 The Manchester Experience

Two bands and two DJs relieve the glory days with an evening of Mancunian mayhem curated by What's The Story, the team behind the Battle Of Britpop and The Stone Roses v Happy Mondays club nights. 6 Abington Park Museum

Housed in a Grade 1 listed building in the park, this museum is home to a beautiful Tudor oak panelled room, plus exhibitions on the history of the Northamptonshire Regiment & Yeomanry, a 19th-century fashion gallery and items from the Museum of Leathercraft collection.

7 Sywell Country Park

Uncover the splendors of this scenic country park and stroll around the surrounding pastureland which boasts picnic meadows, orienteering trails and a three mile reservoir trail. Visitors are also invited to pond dip in the amphibian pond to discover what lives beneath the water's surface or head to the children's play area for a day of fun.

8 Mini Meadows Farm

Set in 12 acres of Northamptonshire countryside, this little children's farm boasts guinea pigs, sheep, miniature Shetland ponies, cows, alpacas, geese and ducks, goats, rheas, donkeys, pigs and rabbits. Children can feed the animals whilst for adults, the attractions include a cafe and shop.

9 Castle Ashby Gardens

Thirty-five acres of extensive gardens encircling the ancestral home of the 7th Marquess of Northampton, including the romantic Italian Gardens, an orangery designed by architect Matthew Digby Wyatt, and an impressive arboretum. The menagerie, with its cute meerkats and marmosets is open from April along with the tea room in the walled garden.

10 May Bank Holiday With The Sealed Knot

Experience the thrill and agony of a nation at war with itself as cannons roar, musketeers let loose volleys of fire, and battle ensues between the King's forces and Parliament's army under Fairfax and Cromwell. The UK's largest re-enactment society brings to life the history of the English Civil War and illuminates everyday life in the 17th-century.
