3 The Old Dirty Brasstards

6 Northampton & Lamport Railway

The steam and heritage diesel tourist railway has approximately one and a half miles of running track alongside the Brampton Valley Way. It is staffed entirely by volunteers, who also run the Platform Three Buffet, the gift shop, a second-hand bookshop and a 00 gauge model railway. Look out for the regular Specials throughout the summer months.

7 78 Derngate: The Charles Rennie Mackintosh House

The Grade II listed Georgian house, which was designed and remodelled by Charles Rennie Mackintosh for businessman Wenman Joseph Bassett-Lowe in 1917, now hosts a boutique restaurant and light-filled art galleries which are open to public viewing. Past and present in sweet harmony.

8 Abington Park Museum

Housed in a Grade 1 listed building in the park, this museum is home to a beautiful Tudor oak panelled room, plus exhibitions on the history of the Northamptonshire Regiment & Yeomanry, a 19th-century fashion gallery and items from the Museum of Leathercraft collection.

9 Lamport Hall

This stately home is of Grade I importance. Best known for its classical frontage, it was developed from a Tudor Manor by John Webb in 1655 and completed in the 18th century. The Hall contains a wealth of furniture, books and paintings collected by the Isham family, particularly during the third Baronet's Grand Tour of Europe in the 1670s.
